SocialHope – Your Reminder to Real Life
Do you find it hard to leave social media once you're logged in? You "just quickly" open TikTok or Instagram – and suddenly half an hour has passed? SocialHope helps you in exactly these moments.
If you allow our app to use the AccessibilityService API, it detects when you're using a social media app and sends you a motivating message after a few minutes – loving, personal, and with a clear goal: to remind you that life continues beyond the screen.
SocialHope uses so-called inhibitory notifications. Unlike typical app notifications, these aren't designed to keep you hooked or lure you back, but rather to mindfully invite you to let go of social media. You won't be blocked or reprimanded, but respectfully supported – for a healthier way of managing your attention.
What SocialHope can do for you:

Tested in science – developed by young people
The app is part of a "Jugend forscht" (Young Researchers) project and was developed by two students who intensively investigated whether notifications can influence social media usage. Initial tests show: SocialHope can significantly reduce daily screen time – completely without pressure.
