This game continues SS' long history of escalating money grubbing. If you aren't familiar with it, each time you purchase a new small parcel of virtual land, the price of the next parcel jumps, seemingly exponentially. For example, I've been playing this game for only a week or so and already the price of new parcels is now over 50 million SS dollars. Folks, that's approximately US $75. Just for context, the next dozen or so small parcels will run me over US $500 if I use real money.

sparkling Society still doesn't think outside the box with the city island games. CI5D has a lot fewer decorations, no trees to speak of, and too many gold coins only purchases. I'm trying to figure out what's so deluxe about it. sparkling Society still has the annoying city advisor that can't be turned off. if you're going to label CI5 as "deluxe" , then make it deluxe! stop using the same buildings in every game. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!

This one is way better graphics and its about the same but its i think the best series of games. The only thing is the amount of houses/ buildings compared to the coins you get. And when you have to upgrade your houses or building houses it takes a long time to be able to do other stuff but other than that I have almost the whole collection of sparkling society games. love them
