I stayed here a second time because airfare was so expensive and I had to cut corners (hey, the channel is a business, right?). But the cool thing about the Flamingo Hotel & Casino is that it is one of the more affordable places to stay on the Las Vegas Strip while being in a great location! No es una teoría de conspiración, el cambio climático nos está mat ando y pronto acabará con la humanidad entera. Tal es el caso de Qatar, un pequeño país árabe situado al oeste de Asia, en donde anualmente decenas de personas pierden la vida debido a las infernales temperaturas que sus habitantes viven todos los días como si fuera producto de un cast igo. En este lugar el clima es exageradamente caluroso y bastante húmedo durante todo el año. Qatar tiene 9 meses de verano y 3 de interminable lucha por sobrevivir. La temperatura promedio anual es de 30 grados centígrados y aunque hasta aquí parece algo normal, durante el dia sus pobladores pueden experimentar temperaturas de hasta 55 grados centígrados, lo cual es suficiente para cocinar un huevo en el cofre de cualquier vehículo. En los meses de verano la lluvia no existe, los chubascos son tan escasos que prácticamente podrían tratarse de un milagro. Si por algo se distingue también el clima de Qatar es por el gran número de horas de sol que recibe, por su aire caliente y sus mole stas torm entas de arena, las cuales pueden llegar a durar varios días haciendo que todo sea prácticamente invisible alrededor. Estas temperaturas tan extremas se incrementan mucho más con la humedad y el viento seco, mismo que causa que la sensación térmica sea aún mayor, por lo que no resulta nada raro ver a personas caer desmayadas mientras caminan por la calle. En este lugar la hidratación es fundamental, así como no pasar largos períodos expuestos al sol en las horas de luz durante los meses más cálidos. El riesgo de golpe de calor es relativamente alto, sobre todo entre los trabajadores cuyos empleos se desempeñan al aire libre. En verano, salir de casa durante el día es como adentrarse a un deporte extremo en donde la vida y la muerte es solo cuestión de tiempo. Cualquier tipo de actividad al aire libre, paseo o visita a la tienda se convierte en una amenaza para la salud. Pero gracias al enorme poder económico el gobierno ha podido desarrollar tecnologías para evitar que su gente muera de calor. En Qatar la mayoría de los edificios y casas cuentan con aire acondicionado. Incluso los estadios de fútbol. Las estaciones del metro, los autobuses y sus paradas también lo tienen. Sin embargo, lo más novedoso es este proyecto único y el cual tiene como objetivo la creación de nubes artificiales, con el propósito de ocultar los rayos del sol y refrescar el ambiente. Sin duda un invento que marca un antes y un después en la historia de la tecnología universal. Se trata de nubes mecánicas formadas de carbono que sobrevolarán las ciudades. En el interior de estas se inyectará gas helio para que floten, y la energía solar activará sus motores. Es aquí donde empieza la magia, las nubes se quedan suspendidas en el aire como un helicóptero y se manejan mediante control remoto. Bloquean los rayos del sol, haciendo bajar la temperatura. Además, según el recorrido del sol, irán cambiando su posición. Gracias a esta invención la temperatura bajará hasta los 20 grados. Haciendo posible que la gente pueda vivir en paz, evitando así la muerte de decenas de personas inocentes. Pero mientras llega este día, miles de personas seguirán experimentando lo que es vivir en el verdadero infi erno.
