Celebrate Sycuan Casino Resort's 38th Anniversary

We recently stayed at Pechanga Resort Casino for one night on a complimentary stay. We had an offer for up to four nights, but we weren't sure how we would like it and this was a spur of the moment trip so we just stuck with the one night. It is a beautiful property, our room was clean, and it had great bath amenities from L'Occitane. It was quiet overnight which was wonderful, but sadly the bed was not very comfortable and the pillows were huge so I didn't sleep very well. After we checked in we went to the casino and unfortunately we did not have very good luck! This can happen at any casino, of course. Pechanga is a large casino with a good selection and there were plenty of games to choose from, but other than a nice royal flush on video poker I really didn't win much. Mr. Ellabellita fared even worse :/ We did enjoy a very nice spur of the moment dinner (we had just planned on getting drinks and playing at the bar but then when we got hungry we were delighted to find that we could order a full dinner)! The service was wonderful and the food and drinks were fantastic. The next day after we checked out we went to 1882 Cantina at Pechanga for brunch. Our meals were delicious once again and we enjoyed terrific service. Overall we're glad we went to Pechanga as there was a lot to like, but it will probably be awhile before we go back since we had such bad luck this time and the bed was just not comfortable. Great food, though! We were just going to drive home after we left Pechanga, but probably because Mr. Ellabellita didn't win any money there, he decided we should see if there were any other casinos nearby. We knew there were, but it turned out there were lots of choices! We decided upon Harrah's since we had never been there before and made the trip there through some beautiful back roads in about 25 minutes or so. Harrah's was also a large property, and while smoking is allowed there (Pechanga is smoke-free, except for a new smoking area that is fully enclosed), it was very clean. All of the staff members we interacted with were extremely friendly and seemed genuine. We enjoyed some good cocktails at the bar while playing video poker and keno, and then went off to try some slots. We had much better luck at Harrah's and played for quite awhile. We even walked away with a "free" casino gift and some money this time!
