After our arrival from London we checked into the Palazzo Hotel. A luxury Italian hotel in Fourways, Gauteng. The Palazzo is amongst Johannesburg's most luxurious hotels. We booked two rooms, one with king size bed and one with two double beds for kids. Full breakfast buffet with made to order eggs, yummy cappuccinos and unlimited mimosas where included in our stay all that for only Zar 2,885 which is $160 per room. The amenities included an outdoor poor with spa cabanas where kids enjoyed their first ever massages. There was also small fitness room as well. The grounds are very well manicured and so serene to walk through. 2 min walk from the Palazzo is the Montecasino, with dining, movie theater, arcade rooms, bumper cars and of course the casino. You have to be 18 and over to enter. This is where we had one of the best sushi's we ever had and rolls that would run in the USA for $50 or more where only $3-$6 with a yummy bottle of wine for only $11! A roll covered with edible gold flakes was only $24 vs $96 in US. Here is for the scary that happen-Ella who is allergic to tree nuts always checks for any allergens as she did here as well. Unfortunately the restaurant failed to disclose that one of the rolls was covered with cashew powder, which she is very allergic to! We run as fast as we could to the hotel only to find out our key was not working! A housekeeper tried to get us in and was not able to do so. We came to find out the battery on the key pod was dead. Long story short Ella finally took her medication no epi pen needed and was fine within 20 min!
