La inauguración fue el 15 de septiembre de 1910, con espléndidos bailes y banquetes, celebrando así el primer centenario de la Indepedencia de México. Durante la tercera toma de Torreón, Francisco Villa reunió en este edificio a todos los principales comerciantes y empresarios de la región, con el propósito de solicitarles un préstamo para la causa revolucionaria. La fachada del edificio conserva las huellas de algunos cañonazos de ese tiempo. En 1946, la Constructora Lagunera del Arquitecto Carlos Gómez Palacio y el Ingeniero José Bracho llevó a cabo algunas modificaciones necesarias para el mantenimiento del edificio, con notable respeto para la construcción original. También en 1968 el Casino tuvo nuevas reformas igualmente cuidadosamente que han servido para darle mayor lucimiento. El edificio consta de tres niveles. Al centro de su fachada (donde una inscripción dice "1910 Casino de la Laguna"). Hay un gran balcón que remata con un tímpano. Los balcones laterales cuentan con balaustradas afrancesadas y las ménsulas están decoradas con motivos de Art Nouveau; las pilastras son jónicas y las molduras clásicas. Está rematado con balaustradas y jarrones. La fachada conserva su forma original. Desde su inauguración, a principios del siglo XX, este Casino ha participado, en varios sentidos, en la voluntad histórica y social de la Laguna.
