En los años cincuentas del siglo veinte Hermosillo Sonora era una ciudad pequeña. En aquellos años un incendio acabó con lo que fue el Club Campestre de Hermosillo, lugar de reunión social donde frecuentemente se organizaban fiestas y bailes y donde particularmente la juventud hermosillense quería estar. Aquel incendio estuvo rodeado de mucho misterio y las distintas versiones de su origen no esperaron para circular entre los habitantes. La más difundida fue la de que una chica de nombre Linda salió de su casa desobedeciendo a sus padres para acudir al gran baile de año nuevo. Ahí conoció a un hombre muy guapo que la atrajo inmediatamente. Linda acepta bailar con este galán y cuando están ya en la pista ella nota en él un olor desagradable como a azufre, el hombre la abraza más fuerte y ella empieza a sentir que la mano del hombre le quema la espalda, sin poderse mover ella solo logra darse cuenta de que las piernas del galán son ahora una pata de cabra y una de gallo, Linda grita desesperada y el hombre desaparece dejando fuego y llamas detrás de sí, mismas que terminan por incendiar el lugar entero. La gente comenzó a llamar El Casino del Diablo a las ruinas quemadas del Club Campestre. Desde entonces toda clase de anécdotas han surgido en dichas ruinas. En la época actual, Jason Kammerath, un investigador norteamericano de lo paranormal accede a los videos grabados con celular de lo que parecen eventos muy perturbadores grabados en las ruinas del Casino del Diablo en Hermosillo y decide viajar a dicha ciudad para investigar más a fondo, sin embargo una vez ahí se entrevista con Carmen Valenzuela que es la cronista de la ciudad y quien le explica que eso es tan solo una leyenda urbana, que en pocas palabras está perdiendo su tiempo.
