I was excited to check out the newly renovated Rio and looking forward to being able to give the improvements a lot of positive hype and attention. Unfortunately my visit was derailed with a fluid soaked mattress liner with evidence of bed bugs. I had three rooms in total booked over two days and two of the three had similar issues. So what does this mean? Bed bugs can and will be found at every resort. Finding a bug itself is less troubling than finding filthy linens thats been made into a bed and placed in service. While I think the Rio is headed towards being a restored property someday soon, they are still very much in transition and currently an active construction site working out snags.
