Sin embargo, debido a la gravedad de los daños que padeció, Quiroz Moreno feneció al amanecer y en el lugar de los hechos. Los cadáveres de las víctimas fueron sacados con ayuda de herramienta hidráulica y consecutivamente los integrantes de la Coordinación General de Servicios Periciales los llevaron a las instalaciones del Servicio Médico Forense. Los agentes de la Unidad de Atención Temprana, dependientes de la Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) se hicieron cargo de las correspondientes investigaciones.
