Hizo mención a una fotografía que se viralizó donde se puede ver al ídolo brasilero de fútbol, Neymar da Silva Santos Junior en el bautismo de su hija, apostando en la ruleta virtual. “Este es sólo un ejemplo para que se vea que el problema afecta a muchos en diferentes lugares del mundo”, indicó el funcionario. Y mencionó que en una reunión con chicos de quinto año de una escuela secundaria de los adolescentes de Orán confesaron que “todos apostaban”. “Esto se da por el culto al dinero fácil, el culto a ganar dinero sin creatividad, sin producción ni esfuerzo”, indicó Da Souza. Comentó que varias instituciones públicas realizarán una encuesta anónima sobre las apuestas virtuales, para poder hacer un diagnóstico de la situación local. “Se estima que uno de cada tres jóvenes están vinculados a este tipo de apuestas”, agregó. Da Souza mencionó dos casos ocurridos en Buenos Aires de suicidio e intento de suicidio de adolescentes por apostar en línea. “Por esto es necesario hablar de la problemática en familia y conocer cuántos chicos están afectados por esto, para poder modificar políticas públicas desde el Estado”.
