Annie's Canyon Trail located in Solana Beach, CA is a definite must hike if you are ever in the San Diego/Solana Beach area. About 15 minutes south on the 5 FWY from the Carlsbad Outlets, you can be hiking an approx. 2.2 mile round trip scenic hike with an amazing slot canyon. Yes a slot canyon, but with a view of the ocean once you summit to the top. How amazing right? Once you head into the slot canyon take your time and soak in the beauty. If you aren't comfortable with wedging yourself into tight corners, we definitely recommend hiking up the back side by going to the left side of the main signage you will see before entering the slot canyon area. It's a slight incline so watch your step but you to will get to see the top of the slot canyon and a beautiful ocean view as well as views of the San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve. There is a Nature Center located at (2710 Manchester Ave, Cardiff, CA 92007). Hours listed online. As said in the video, wear sunscreen, comfortable footwear, a hat, bring water, and most importantly have a great time and take pictures/video to.
