CINCINNATI (WKRC) - JACK Casino Cincinnati and Turfway Park will have a new owner. VICI Properties and Hard Rock International are buying the two venues. The deal is worth $780 million. Hard Rock will operate both properties. "As one of only four full-scale casinos permitted in Ohio, the property is poised to benefit from the introduction of Hard Rock, a dynamic and proven operator in the Ohio market," said John Payne, president and CEO of VICI Properties. "We look forward to supporting Hard Rock as they continue to execute on their growth strategy throughout the U.S. and globally.” "I am pleased to welcome the more than 1,000 JACK Cincinnati employees into the Hard Rock family,” added Jim Allen, chairman and CEO of Hard Rock International. Chad Barnhill, Senior Vice President of Regional Operations for JACK Entertainment told Local 12 what might change with the new ownership. "Hard Rock is known for their entertainment so I would expect to see some more entertainment. A lot of changes once Hard Rock gets here will be announced. The great thing is that you get to come to the casino that you love and still see the team members that you've grown accustomed to providing great service to." The organizations hope to close the deal late in 2019. It is subject to regulatory approval.
