Today we're exploring the Excalibur Hotel & Casino, the castle themed hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. It's a bit older than the newest casinos on the Strip, but it's got tons of character and an interesting medieval vibe. We begin outside with a look at the colorful castle exterior then begin our journey inside by riding the near flat "escalator" entrance walkway for quite a distance. Curiously, there's only one moving walkway and it only goes in the direction of into the casino. To get out, you have to use your own power. Once inside, we head downstairs to pass through the arcade and carnival games area. It's filled with arcade games and games with prizes like you'd find at a carnival. Heading back upstairs, we see Dick's Last Resort, a restaurant known for servers who jokingly insult their guests. Moving further around the casino's perimeter, we pass some knights' armor decorations near one of the hotel tower entrances, then we make our way onto the main casino floor. We briefly spot a karaoke lounge tucked off to one side before continuing through the casino. Next, we pass the sportsbook and near it is Tap Sports Bar. A bit further along, we see Johnny Rockets where, incredibly, a single cheeseburger and fries costs $21.99. Just outside the restaurant, I spot a Sprinkles cupcake vending machine. Of course, we have to try it out. Before long, we head up an escalator to the second floor. Here, we find a kitschy family style Italian restaurant called Buca Di Beppo, the entrance to the Thunder From Down Under male revue show, the Thunder Bar, and Excalibur buffet. Also on the second floor is the Excalibur food court which offers familiar fast food options at higher Las Vegas prices. And finally, we walk along the interior walkway that connects the Excalibur to the Luxor so I can show an example of casino cost cutting which I think is a bit extreme. Lets review three centre strip hotel and casinos. Harrahs, The Line and The Flamingo. Which is the best. It's another honest review of #LasVegas Harrah's Las Vegas is a hotel and casino centrally located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned by Vici Properties and operated by Caesars Entertainment. The property originally opened as a joint venture with Holiday Inn. In 1990, Holiday Inn transferred ownership of the resort to The Promus Companies, which then ended the franchise agreement with the hotel company. The property was renamed Harrah's Las Vegas in April 1992, and Promus would change its name to Harrah's Entertainment in 1995, before ultimately becoming Caesars Entertainment. The casino originally featured a riverboat façade, which was enlarged in 1990, as part of a $100 million renovation and expansion project. The riverboat theme was removed in a subsequent $200 million project which concluded in 1997, adding a Carnival and Mardi Gras theme instead. In addition to a showroom, the property also has an outdoor bar and entertainment area known as Carnaval Court. The Linq (formerly Flamingo Capri, Imperial Palace and The Quad) is a casino hotel on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned and operated by Caesars Entertainment. It opened as the Flamingo Capri on October 30, 1959, on property located directly north of the original Flamingo resort. The Flamingo Capri was a 180-room motel, owned by George E. Goldberg and Flamingo employee Bill Capri. Ralph Engelstad purchased the Flamingo Capri in 1971, and added a casino the following year. He built additional motel buildings in 1974, and eventually added the 19-story Imperial Palace Tower in 1977. Engelstad renamed the entire property as the Imperial Palace on November 1, 1979, when a new casino facility opened on the site. Engelstad added additional hotel towers from 1982 to 1987, increasing the room count to 2,637. It was among the largest hotels in the world. When Engelstad died in 2002, the Imperial Palace was the second-largest privately owned hotel in the world, behind the Venetian resort in Las Vegas. Following his death, operations were taken over by a group that included his wife Betty. Harrah's Entertainment (later known as Caesars Entertainment) purchased the Imperial Palace in 2005, for $370 million. The Linq Promenade – an outdoor collection of bars, restaurants, and retailers – was opened by Caesars in 2013. It was built along the Quad's southern edge. A signature feature of the promenade is the High Roller Ferris wheel, the second tallest in the world, only behind the Ain Dubai Ferris wheel. The Quad was renamed as The Linq on October 30, 2014, to match the new promenade. The name change was accompanied by a $223 million renovation, which modernized the resort in an effort to attract a new demographic of millennials. The Linq includes a 33,890 sq ft (3,148 m2) casino and 2,250 rooms. Flamingo Las Vegas (formerly the Flamingo Hilton[a]) is a casino hotel on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned and operated by Caesars Entertainment. The Flamingo includes a 72,299 sq ft (6,716.8 m2) casino and a 28-story hotel with 3,460 rooms. The resort was originally proposed by Billy Wilkerson, founder of The Hollywood Reporter, who purchased the land in 1945. Early the following year, he partnered with a trio of mobsters to obtain financing. Among his partners was Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel, who proceeded to take over the $1 million project, to Wilkerson's dismay. Construction costs rose under Siegel's management, with a final price of $6 million. The Flamingo's casino opened on December 26, 1946, followed by a three-story hotel on March 1, 1947. It is the oldest continuously operating resort on the Strip, and was the third to open there. Hilton Hotels Corporation bought the resort in the early 1970s, and renamed it the Flamingo Hilton, a name it would retain until 2001. The first 28-story addition was completed in 1978, and others would follow over the next two decades, with the final one finished in 1995. The three-story hotel, the last remaining structure from the original Flamingo, was demolished in 1993, helping make way for the final high-rise addition. A portion of this property was also redeveloped as a new 15-acre (6.1 ha) pool area, accompanied by an animal habitat which includes flamingos.
