My mum and I spent 1 week exploring and relaxing in the Dominican Republic last October after a busy season of work for me over the summer - some chill time was needed! The weather was perfect, but the seaweed on the beach was so bad, I barely swam in the ocean! Punta Cana is on the Atlantic Ocean sude of yhe island, not the Caribbean sea side, so I highly recommend a trip to Saona Island to swim in the Caribbean sea, which was much clearer 😊 The weather was pretty much perfect the whole week and, overall, our hotel (Catalonia Bavaro) was good value for money but I personally going sone of the customer service to be very poor, which made me feel uncomfortable. The local delicacies like their hot chocolate and Mamajuana drink were delicious and make a great souvenir, & so is any jewellery that contains the rare Larimar stone that is only found in the DR! It was a beautiful country and a grear, chill trip🥰
