Three months of preparation. One thousand fireworks. Seven minutes of showtime. That’s the work behind the Fourth of July fireworks show at the Plaza Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas. “All this work for seven minutes of a show. It's literally insane when you really think about it,” said Nathan Tanner, project manager with Pyrotek, the company that put the rooftop spectacle together. “But it’s worth it.” Tanner and his team of just a few people spent two to three days wiring and building together all of the fireworks. It took another one-and-half days to bring it all up to the Plaza rooftop, where they launched from. But that’s just a drop in the bucket when it comes to the work that went behind putting on this show that lasted about 420 seconds in total.
